in the beginning…
Three young New Zealand boys got together to form a casual singing group on the Gold Coast over 17 years ago, nothing but three part harmonies and some backing tracks got them performing around the local hot spots, not knowing where their love of jamming together would lead to.
They established themselves around the Southeast Queensland area performing all up and down the coast to Brisbane and the Sunny Coast. The years have seen many personal highs and lows for the boys as they lost their leader Chris Gear who sadly passed away in a work accident. Keeping in mind everything that Chris created with Geed UP and the relationships formed along the way with many loyal clientele, the boys continued on doing what they loved in memory of Chris Gear.
Since then Geed UP has evolved into a highly sought out entertainment group, making its mark in all areas of performance from corporate to intimate weddings to public events. Their success has seen them grow from a small Gold Coast trio gigging in small pubs and bars to performing their 5 Piece showcase nationally and internationally.
Geed Up is not the regular singing trio you would see nowadays, they now incorporate percussion, saxophone, keys and guitar and explosive breakdancing choreography all from two newcomers, Matty and Brad aka “BBoy Yogi”. With their style of performing along with the musicality of the trio Mat, Khan and Steve, you will see it all and will not look away. High energy, comedic and show stopping is what Geed Up is today.
